The most precious gift from Heaven above is the gift of a daughter for a mother to LOVE.
Age 2

“Children are the hands by which we take hold of heaven.” - Henry Ward Beecher

The toddler now responds to reason, humor, and action while eager to explore the world around them. They are totally unpredictable, but always adorable. For a more classic look, simple clothing is great for this age. Simple compositions allow their personality to be revealed. If they are getting to be a little shy, bring along some of their favorite toys and stuffed animals to help them relax. This is a great time to have them photographed with their siblings and grandparents.

Age 3

“I see the Moon and the Moon sees me; God bless the Moon, and God bless me.” - Celtic Rhyme

This age is a great time for "dress up." Many little girls enjoy frilly dresses and little boys can now keep their shirttails tucked in long enough for a portrait. This is also the age that tends to express the essence of childhood more clearly and is a perfect time for a 'classic' portrait. Our goal is to capture their quiet moments and also the fun they have just "hangin' out."

Age 4-5

“No matter how loud, No matter how silly. Giggle Ha Ha, Snicker Hee Hee. There's no laugh as cute as yours is to me.” - Crystal Dawn Perry

Searching for their place in the world, they have already developed personal interests, likes and dislikes. Their individuality of character and action should be portrayed before the baby teeth are lost..forever altering the endearing look of early childhood. The clothing and the theme of these portraits should be chosen to reflect how the child spends much of his or her time, and also bring "special occasion" clothing. This is also a great time for a family portrait before they begin losing their teeth.

Age 6-8

"Oh that it were my chief delight to do the things I ought! Then let me try with all my might to mind what I am taught." - Ann Taylor

This might be an appropriate time to ask the child how he or she might want to be portrayed, since they are starting to make decisions in dealing with their family and friends. Stick to simple clothing so that it does not overpower the child. Children are now very active. Special events such as first communion, first baseball uniforms and other special occasions should be recorded for family history. Don't forget to include grandparents in this session.

Age 9-12

"You cannot catch a child's spirit by running after it; you must stand still and for love it will soon itself return." - Arthur Miller

Between the ages of 9 and 12, these youngsters are confronting the world head on. Exploring who they are and showing the promise of who they are about to become. The little person you have known so well is about to become a more complex and independent person. This is a perfect time for outdoor portraits! Ask yourself, "If this portrait could make a statement about your child, what would you like that statement to be?"

Age 13-15

"Children are likely to live up to what you believe in them." - Ladybird Johnson

The boy is almost a man and the girl almost a woman in his or her interests, his attitudes and thinking. Carefree years.yet ones that anticipate the challenges of adulthood on the horizon. The young woman has begun to blossom into womanhood. Still a lifetime of growing and learning ahead.but never a child again. Fashion is now important, even to boys. Let the teens be involved in choosing some of their clothing. The early teenage years are carefree times, yet full of introspection. It's time for hanging out with friends and forming special attachments. We like to capture these teens engages in their favorite activities and the fun of outdoors.
