How to Prepare for the Pregnancy and Mother and Child Portraits

Babies are a wondrous fascination. From pregnancy a child should be remembered.  The treasures of life inside, the bond between mother and child, even before birth, is a beautiful experience that will never be duplicated. We want to capture the wonderful moments that we all take for granted and have difficulty remembering.  Hopes and dreams captured in an image that will become a treasure.  An heirloom.

We have a remarkable team of photographers that work together with you in designing your session and are able to bring out the personalities and feelings of this special time in your life.  By working together, they allow the session to flow smoothly and effortlessly so that you can concentrate on your feelings and emotions rather than on the camera.

PREGNANCY PORTRAITS

During your pregnancy we want to capture the bond that is so special between you and the baby and also between you and your husband.  If you are adding a sibling to any of the portraits, they need to be dresses in complimentary clothing, as described below, to fit the style of portrait you prefer.

For a more contemporary black and white session, each of you will want to wear solid black shirts and dark slacks.  Mom’s shirt needs to be able to open down the front.

For a softer portrait style, you will want to wear a long gown, preferably with long sleeves.  We have gowns if you prefer to wear one of ours. Your husband should wear a long sleeve white shirt or a tee shirt and khaki slacks.

MOTHER AND BABY PORTRAITS and DAD AND BABY, TOO!!

Our goal for these images is to create a soft, intimate, innocent and loving portrait. We want to capture the miracle that you see in your child.  Morgan’s has a dressing room designed especially with mother and baby in mind.  Soft music sets the tone for this very special session.
Morgan’s supplies the white gowns for this session or you may bring you own gown, if you desire.  We set aside a longer time frame for this portrait session.  This allows mom and baby the time to truly interact with one another. The unhurried appointment also gives mom the chance to stop and feed the baby, if needed.  We want to do whatever it takes for a happy little one.

For the more contemporary black and white session, solid black shirts and dark pants are best. This portrait is a definite when adding dad to the session.

For the softer portrait style, the gowns are best for mom and dad and siblings can wear white tops and khaki or light colored slacks.
